Student Stories - Brandon Butzberger

Brandon Butzberger (’23) knew Palm Beach Atlantic University was right for him from as early as ninth grade, after attending a college fair where PBA was represented. Butzberger jumped at the opportunity to further his education while simultaneously prioritize and grow in his relationship with Jesus.

Butzberger is no stranger to adversity. At just four years old, he was diagnosed with a very rare form of childhood cancer. Though declared cancer-free after surgery and chemotherapy, only a year later he would be diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative eye disease. Ultimately, Brandon would come to lose sight in his left eye during his time at PBA. Despite the many obstacles he has faced, Butzberger successfully graduate with a B.S. in Psychology.

“I am grateful for everyone who made PBAU and continues to make it such an amazing atmosphere and environment to be at. All of the success I have achieved at PBAU wouldn’t have been possible without all the donors and contributions made toward my education”, Butzberger says.

Butzberger’s God Sized Dream is to become a clinical psychologist. He hopes his testimony and life experiences will allow him to empower people to overcome their own obstacles.
